The Growatt SPF 3500 ES inverter is the optimal choice for so-called island systems without an available distribution network - a power plant and/or battery can be connected to the unit as a backup energy source. This is a hybrid inverter with sine wave output ideal for home and small commercial systems. The built-in MPPT controller can handle up to a 4.5 kW PV array with a maximum open-circuit voltage of 450 Voc. It can work with both lead and Li-ion batteries. Naturally, there are RJ-45 ports for CAN/RS-485 communication with the BMS of LiFePO4 modular batteries of brands such as Pylontech, WECO, Seplos, etc.

The inverter can also be operated without a battery provided it is actively connected to the distribution network. In the SUB operating mode, the inverter monitors the load input and the output of the available photovoltaic source, and supplements any missing part of the energy from the DS. The device enables the setting of a bypass which, in the event of disconnection of the battery or PV array, connects the output of the inverter to the DS within 10 ms, so that the power supply is not interrupted. It also supports UPS mode with battery-only switching within 10ms.

By connecting inverters in parallel, a total system power of 30 kW can be achieved. The inverter can be retrofitted with a Wi-Fi/LAN communication module for remote control and monitoring.

When operating the inverter in Priority Solar mode and when operating without a battery, the inverter behaves as a so-called "hybrid", there is a possibility of electrical energy flows into the distribution network. To eliminate these overflows, use the SBU Battery Priority mode, where when the battery is low, it switches to the bypass.
