MikroTik LtAP LR8 LTE kit
Compact all-in-one solution in a robust design with 360° coverage, integrated LTE Cat4 modem, support for GPS and LoRa protocol. The access point works at 2.4 GHz frequency with support for 802.11b/g/n standards. There are three SIM slots available in the unit, as well as two miniPCIe slots, one for the LTE modem and the other for the gateway card of LoRa technology. The unit has three mini SIM slots for 2G/3G/4G (LTE) connections and two miniPCIe slots (e.g. for redundant LTE modem, 5 GHz interface or other compatible devices). The second miniPCI (LoRa) slot is shared with the USB port (it is not functional in this configuration), so only one of these interfaces can be used at the same time. The device has integrated overvoltage protection on the Ethernet and radio parts. The unit includes RouterOS MikroTik software with L4 license, so the unit can be used as an access point. LtAP has an integrated PoE splitter (passive PoE 12-30 V), so they can be powered directly via the network cable.
Supported bands (LtAP LR8 LTE kit)
- LTE (FDD): 1 (2100)/ 2 (1900)/ 3 (1800)/ 7 (2600)/ 8 (900)/ 20 (800)
- LTE (TDD): 38 (2600)/ 40 (2300)
- 3G: 1 (2100)/ 2 (1900)/ 5 (850)/ 8 (900)
- 2G: 2 (1900)/ 3 (1800)/ 5 (850)/ 8 (900)
Information about RouterOS MikroTik
- All RouterBoards have the same RouterOS MikroTik system.
- All devices with RouterOS MikroTik fully support IPv6, have firewall, Queues, NAT and with L4 license support CAPsMAN server.
- MikroTik can be set up via the web interface, via the mobile application, or the winbox program, which can be downloaded from mikrotik.com.
- MikroTik has "Quick Set" ie quick setting option. There are several preset profiles to choose from.
LoRa is one of the wireless network protocols used in the world of Internet of Things - IoT (Internet of Things)
LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) is another low-power wireless network protocol designed for low-cost and secure two-way communication in the Internet of Things. It uses a band up to 1 GHz and the transfer speed is then from 0.3 kb/s to 50 kb/s. Communication between end elements and gateways is spread over different frequency bands and transmission rates. The choice of data transfer rate is a compromise between communication range and message length. Individual communication streams with different transmission rates do not interfere with each other (due to spread spectrum technology) and create a set of "virtual" channels to increase gateway capacity. To maximize end device battery life and overall network capacity, the LoRaWAN network server manages the baud rate and RF output for each end device individually, through an Adaptive Data Rate (ADR) system
LoRaWAN distinguishes several classes of devices
- Class A - end devices support two-way communication (each uplink is followed by two windows for receiving data)
- Class B - apart from the "forced" downlink of class A, devices of this class open extraordinary reception windows at set times
- Class C - receiving windows are open almost continuously and close only when transmitting
