123electric BMS123SM-EM
Expanded module for the BMS123\ system. Comes with Molex connectors and cables.
The module adds the following features:
- 4 configurable relays - turns on the relays on time or conditions
- 2 individual CAN bus connections
- Elcon/TC charger control via CAN bus interface
- BMS transmission configuration on CAN bus
- Compatible with electric vehicle charging stations using the J1772/IEC 62196 - adaptive charging protocol. The advanced module limits the charging current to the maximum current of the charging station/vehicle.
- Controls two analog meters
- Insulation Check - Measure the insulation resistance between the power supply and the insulated battery module
Use a stranded cable to connect the extended module to the BMS123 Smart OUT board. There is no polarity here.
Electric car charging
Electric cars can be charged at charging stations using the J1772 protocol. The extended module communicates with the charging station and obtains the maximum allowable current. This offered transmission will be used.
Insulation detection function
Battery modules that use high voltage must be isolated from the electronic power source such as a 12V battery. It is important to constantly measure this insulation resistance between the high voltage unit that controls the BMS and the power supply of this module extended. This can be done through isolation detection.
Connecting to a PC
The expanded module is equipped with a USB port to connect PC-based devices, and not just those in the vehicle.
The software for the advanced module consists of several functions
Follow-up
The most important data is displayed, such as the total voltage of the module, the state of charge and the voltage of each cell.
BMS data
Global BMS settings such as minimum cell voltage, maximum cell voltage, and temperatures need to be configured. Additionally, all BMS data can be sent via CAN bus.
NOTE: The BMS does NOT use the minimum voltage, maximum voltage, minimum temperature and maximum temperature set by the Bluetooth module.
CAN BUS messages
The most important BMS data, such as voltages, temperatures, settings and statuses, can be sent via the CAN bus. Select the desired CAN bus network (1 or 2) and fill in the initial message ID. The BMS sends 8 different CAN bus messages. The first in the initial address (N), the second N+1, etc.
Configurable relays
The four relays can be configured independently for day of the week, hysteresis or boolean logic. There is also an "inverted output" relay option.
