Victron SmartSolar 150/70-Tr VE.Can MPPT

VE.Can: solution for multiple solar controllers in one system

With the VE.Can function, up to 25 units can be synchronized in one PV system.

Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)

Victron Energy's MPPT solar controllers are among the absolute world leaders in this field and offer ultra-fast MPPT tracking. Especially under cloudy skies with continuously changing light intensity, thanks to this controller, solar gains are 30% higher compared to classic PWM controllers or 10% higher compared to slow MPPT controllers. Especially with partial shading, two or more points of maximum power can be given. Common MPPT controllers try to maintain the power at the local power point, but this may not correspond to the optimal (maximum) power point. Excellent efficiency up to 98%, without unnecessary energy losses with quiet passive cooling without a fan.

Built-in Bluetooth Smart

You can monitor and configure the SmartSolar MPPT controller via your smartphone or tablet. You can monitor current conditions and historical data and perform parameter settings using the VictronConnect mobile app, which can be downloaded for free from Google Play or the App Store. If you want to do the above using a PC, then you can use the VE.direct to USB cable to connect the controller and PC. You just install the Victron Connect program on your computer, which you can download again for free at the same address, see above.

SmartSolar plug-in display (not included)

It is possible to purchase an additional SmartSolar plug-in display as an accessory. The display is inserted into the connector on the front of the controller and allows you to visualize all operating conditions and perform parameter settings.

Input for remote on/off

An external device can simply switch the controller on/off.

Built-in programmable relay

It can also be programmed using a mobile phone, for example as an alarm relay.

Internal temperature sensor and optional external sensing of battery voltage and temperature via Bluetooth

A "smart battery sensor" or a BMV-712 smart battery monitor can be used to communicate with the battery.

The maximum output of PV panels is 1000 Wp for 12 V systems, 2000 Wp for 24 V systems and 4000 Wp for 48 V systems. If these values are exceeded, the controller will not be damaged, but will only automatically reduce the incoming power from the panels to acceptable values. The maximum input short-circuit current to the regulator from the PV panels must not exceed 50 A, otherwise permanent damage may occur.

The maximum input voltage of PV panels referred to as Voc (open-circuit voltage) must not exceed 150 V, otherwise permanent damage may occur - it must be taken into account that Voc increases with decreasing temperature.

Flexible charging algorithm

Fully programmable charging algorithm and eight pre-programmed algorithms that can be selected with a rotary switch (see manual for details).

This more powerful series of solar controllers is not equipped with a DC output. To connect a DC load to the battery, we recommend using "BP Battery Protection" with a maximum load current of up to 220 A.
