The MultiPlus is a powerful DC-AC hybrid converter/charger with pure sine output, with an integrated adaptive battery charger and an ultra-fast power source transfer switch (battery/external AC source). MultiPlus is a combination of inverter and charger in one elegant package. Its range of functions includes a pure sine wave inverter, adaptive charging, PowerAssist hybrid technology and other functions for integration into different types of systems.

One AC input

MultiPlus is equipped with one AC input for connecting a distribution network or, for example, a generator. If two AC inputs are needed, then we choose the Quattro unit.

Two AC outputs

The MultiPlus is equipped with two AC outputs. The AC1 main output ensures uninterrupted power supply. E.g. in UPS MultiPlus mode, it takes over the power supply of the connected appliances (in less than 20 milliseconds) in the event of a failure of the distribution network or generator.

The second output is only functional when AC input (mains/generator) is available. A load that would drain the batteries quickly, such as a water heater, can therefore be connected to this output and will be powered from the AC source only (second output available on 3 kVA and higher models).

Four phases of charging with an adaptive charger and two outputs for charging the battery

The main output provides powerful battery charging through the "adaptive charging" system. The software manages a three-stage automatic charging process to suit the battery condition and adds a fourth charging stage - trickle charge. In addition to this, the MultiPlus can charge a second battery using an independent charging output intended, for example, for generator starter batteries. Multiplus is intended for charging all types of lead, alkaline and lithium batteries.

Virtually unlimited performance thanks to parallel operation

Up to 6 MultiPlus units can work in parallel to achieve higher performance. E.g. The 6x 24/5000/120 inverter provides a power of 25 kW (30 kVA) and a charging capacity of 720 A.

Three-phase operation

Three units of the same type can be configured for three-phase operation. Up to 6 sets of three units can be connected in parallel to obtain a power of up to 75 kW (90 kVA) and a charging capacity of 2000 A.

Unique features of the PowerAssist function

MultiPlus prevents overloading of a power-limited AC source, e.g. a current-limited electric connections. If the input AC current source should be overloaded, the charging current to the battery will be automatically reduced in the first place. In the second row, the output AC current is then strengthened by the current drawn from the battery.

Solar energy

You can have AC power available even in the event of a power outage. MuliPlus can be used both in Off-Grid (island) systems and in photovoltaic systems connected to the distribution network. MultiPlus is not equipped with an input for a PV field, but it is intended for cooperation with MPPT controllers (DC coupling systems) or mains converters (AC coupling systems).

System configuration

• In the case of a separate e.g. UPS installation, the setting can be easily done in a few minutes using DIP switches.
• Parallel and three-phase applications can be configured using the VE.Bus Quick Configure software and the VE.Bus System Configurator software.
• Off-Grid and hybrid PV installations for self-consumption that include grid inverters or MPPT solar chargers can be configured with the Assistant (specialized application-specific software).
